Commissioner Frank Aguilar Facilitates PPE Giveaways and Testing Drives Throughout the 16th District
Commissioner Aguilar Continues His War on COVID-19 with Free PPE Giveaways in Stickney, Franklin Park, and a Vaccination Drive in North Riverside
(Cook County, IL) – Cook County Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar partnered with three 16th District communities to deliver free PPE resources and COVID-19 testing to residents. On Tuesday, February 15th, Commissioner Aguilar partnered with the Village of Stickney and Rincon Family Services to deliver PPE supplies to residents. On Wednesday, February 16th, Commissioner Aguilar partnered with the Village of Franklin Park and Rincon Family Services to dispense PPE equipment. Lastly, on Friday, February 18th, Commissioner Aguilar partnered with North Riverside and Solutions to Care for a COVID-19 testing drive.
“We must meet the community we serve where they live in order to make sure everyone has access to PPE supplies, testing, and vaccinations,” said Commissioner Aguilar. “We know what works; we have this virus on the ropes, but we must remain diligent. I am proud to have such strong community partners in cities and towns throughout our district, working to ensure that everyone is protected from COVID-19, regardless of means. I would like to thank Stickney’s Mayor Jeff Walik, Franklin Park Mayor Barrett Pedersen, North Riverside Mayor Joe Mengoni, Rincon Family Services, and Solutions to Care for their cooperation.”
Rincon Family Services is a Chicago-based health organization dedicated to providing compassionate and effective programs that promote the quality of life by serving as a catalyst for advocacy, education, and empowerment of individuals and their families. Rincon has been Commissioner Aguilar’s main partner in distributing free PPE supplies throughout the 16th District.
Solutions to Care is a Berwyn-based organization serving the Southwest Suburbs. They are committed to preserving the independence and dignity of all older adults and those living with disabilities.
“I want to thank Cook County Board Commissioner Frank Aguilar for distributing free KN95 masks and hand sanitizer to our community. KN95 masks provide the highest level of protection against the transmission of COVID-19 and will help our residents stay safe and well,” said Franklin Park Mayor Barrett Pedersen.
The 16th District has some of the highest levels of testing and vaccination sites in all of Cook County. Commissioner Aguilar’s facilitation of partnerships between healthcare organizations and the communities he serves has been crucial in keeping vaccination rates growing and providing residents with the tools they need to stay safe from COVID-19.
“Vaccinations are such an important part of ending this pandemic and resuming life as we know it,” said North Riverside Mayor Joseph Mengoni. “The Commissioner has been a strong advocate for making the vaccine accessible to everyone in our community, and by hosting these clinics, he has provided an invaluable service to all Cook County residents. Thank you, Commissioner Aguilar, for putting the health and safety of our community first.”
